Aon Re Global appoints Cooney

Aon Re Global has appointed Robert Cooney as its new Aon Capital Markets managing director.
He has also been named the new vice chairman for Aon Re Global—Bermuda and will be based in Bermuda.
In his new position as managing director, Cooney will be responsible directly to Paul Schultz, the president of the division.
Aon Re Global’s executive chairman, Michael O’Halleran, has described Cooney as an industry expert with a strong track record.
Paul Schultz, Cooney’s new boss, has added his own praise to the new appointee, saying he has a considerable quantity of experience and executive leadership ability.
Schultz went on to say that the firm was pleased to have a man of Cooney’s calibre, adding that he would play a valuable role within the firm.
